Day 5 of Gratitude
On the main island within Vanuatu, we had the opportunity to meet with a local pastor who owns a school and several churches in the area. We spent time in fellowship, spoke at his church, and spent time at the school he owns. Black Sands, the area I am writing about, is known to be one of the poorest parts inside Port Vila. The Pastor we partnered with had a vision to put a school in that area to provide children the opportunity to receive an education. We visited and donated resources to the school, as well as walked door to door around the area to witness to others about Jesus.
One of my favorite memories in Black Sands was when our team got to speak in front of a classroom and ask them several questions. The children light up and laugh mostly at the way our voice sound, but you can see the joy of the Lord rest upon them. We were getting ready to leave when I asked the teacher if they knew any worship songs. The just so happened to know, ‘Goodness of God!’ and so we all sang it together.
We were extremely blessed, and our time together was sweet. I am so grateful for these testimonies.
